I like the handle material, although the color has started to fade. Also on the positive side is the blade shape, which is very versatile, and the coating is robust. The overall quality is fine, nothing to worry here. But: The liner lock has failed on my unit hacking small branches, which meant the blade closed on my fingers and cut them. Luckily the cut was not too deep, as the D2 is an absolute pain to sharpen even with DMT diamond sharpeners. It will get sharp enough, but will not take on a super sharp shaving edge. Maybe it will if eventually if you really want to spend more time sharpening it than using it.
