Spartan Blades Harsey Dagger SB49BKBKKYBK Black, Black Micarta, Dolch, Kydex Scheide

A beautiful, very elegant, and well-designed dagger. Unfortunately, the manufacturing quality does not come close to matching the price of the dagger. I ordered a total of four of these knives from Knivesandtools, and only one of them met my standards for impeccable workmanship. The dagger costs far too much money for what it is, so the workmanship should be perfect in my opinion. Unfortunately, this was not the case with 3 of the 4 knives They were all sharp, but had fit and finish issues. I had uneven grinding on the cutting edges, poorly finished Micarta at the end of the handle, very blurred engraving of the Spartan logo and Harsey's signature, imperfect symmetry of the blade, and a wobbly fit of the knife in the Kydex. However, the fourth knife I received is now reasonably perfect (it also has a slightly asymmetrical grind, but I can fix that myself). Overall, a rather disappointing experience with Spartan Blades. I will probably not buy anything else from this manufacturer. If you ask me, their 'proudly made in the USA' doesn't mean much here. Unfortunately, I fell in love with the Harsey Dagger, and the market for elegant but functional daggers is very, very small, so there is no alternative for me.
